I Think I am Ready...

I have been trying to get ready for the SM100 for last couple of months, I think I am where I want to be. I have done the long rides, I have done what I hope are power building rides, and I feel as strong as I ever have. I honestly think riding the geared bike has made me stronger on the one speed. I was always a plus one gear ratio kind of guy. This year it has been 2 to 1, and I like the gear.

Yesterday showed how far I have come this year. I met up with Peaches, Jay Jay, Ted Logic, New Guy Matt, and Keith G aka Bobby's Boy, for a ride around French Creek. As I have said many times French Creek is one of my favorite places to ride. This was only the second time I attempted riding 2 to one. I know lots of people know no other gear, but for me this was a big change.

I was feeling pretty good and got it into my head that I was going to ride everything. Much to my surprise, I made every climb in the park, there were a couple i had never made on any gear before, so I was pretty stoked. The best part of the day was seeing New Guy Matt enjoy his first taste of the wonderful rocks and technical climbs at French Creek. I am still amazed how well this guy rides considering he only has one and half legs.

This turned out to be one of my favorite all time French Creek rides. Today was a little more mellow. I met up with Todd. Bike Line Rich, Elizabeth, Alan, and Kurtee for a nice easy ride at White Clay. It was great we rode at conversation pace the whole ride. We even ran into Les and Jimmy Z, who jumped on for a little while.

In the mean time Rachael and I, mostly Rachael, have been working on house breaking Brian. It is a slow process, but we are making progress.

Now I am looking forward to a quiet week, and hoping to have some kind of form next Sunday.

Cheers,
Buddy

Right on!

See ya down there.

I've been riding the single all year, but I'm chickening out and riding gears for the 100.
