The Stoopid 50...

One of my all time favorite places to ride. State College offers some of the sweetest and challenging single track around. This was year the Stoopid 50 was even better. As you can see the Mountain Laurel was in full bloom, believe me this picture doesn't do it justice. Plus, the 7 year locusts were out, it was pretty Erie hearing them.
The race went pretty well, I was hoping foe top ten but ended up 15th and 46th over all, not bad considering I knocked 10 minutes off of last years time. The story of the day was Jeb Bagger taking 18th, considering he hasn't ridden that kind of terrain at that distance before, makes his ride simply awesome, did I mention he just turned 15. Well done Jeb. For the most part our crew did well.
L Webb took the women's single speed, Steve R, took third in masters, Peaches went out too hard and did the smart thing and pulled the plug at 35 miles, I know all too well, how he was feeling.
I want to thank Wes, Pete, and Carol Shempf for there unbelievable hospitality. They always make me feel like one of the family. Next I have to thank Tom, he was our own aid station. To use his words, he pulled through, I mean he really pulled through, Thanks Tom.
Last, thanks to Chris Scott, Mount Nittany Wheelworks, and there countless volunteers that made this great event possible.
I may do a detailed ride report soon.
Cheers,
Buddy
