Move Over Reba...

When I made the jump to a 29er, I went straight for the REBA. Good fork, but I have had issues with it. I have blown out a few cartridges, and they always seem to be leaking oil. Granted they are a few years old, but a fork should last longer than that.

Recently I scored a White Brothers Magic 80 with IMV dampening. I got to put it to the test Friday. I had offered to help Jimbo and the Mt Nittany boys build some trails. Not in Statae College, but at Raystown Lake. The trails are unlike anything I have seen in Central Pa, but not in a bad way. They are pretty smooth and really fast. Between IMBA and many volunteers they have an almost completed 33 mile trail network. I enjoyed helping Jimbo, Frank. Really good guys.
That's what I call trail building.

Frank's new theme song is "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK"

The best part is part of the trail work is trail assessment. Which means we got to ride some of the trails, and I have to say they are awesome. They still have some fine tuning and hand work to do and the trails don't open until next spring, but when they do open, well let's just say it will be worth the trip.

Back to the fork, if I had to describe it in few words, I would go with Stiff, Plush, and sweet. I am sold, not to mention I will be sponsored by White Brothers next year. I also scored a sponsorship with Six Six One, they do make the best cycling gloves in the world.

Sorry, that's enough shameless promotion for now.

After some trail work and trail assessment, I hung out with Jimbo. He let me crash at his place, but not until we hit a Halloween party in town.

Straube was Baker, and Rich was Ponch, by far the best costumes. Thar's Jimbo in the lamp shade. Me, I went as the asshole with no costume.

It was good time, but way to late of a night for me. I was supposed to ride today, with Ponch and Baker, but it just didn't work out. I was a little bummed, since I love riding in that area, but oh well, there's always next time.

Time for dinner and beer,

Cheers,

Buddy

Whoa I just saw this one today. My RSS reader was being a little buggy. Super good for you scoring the White Bros and Six Six One hookups. Hope your fall is going well. Although if your weather is anything like ours, it's over already. Have a good turkey day.
