Hump Little Turtle Hump, Hump...

Last week turned out to be a good week on the bike. Wednesday saw temps. in the high 60'S which made the trails unridable, but the road was nice. It felt good to be in just arm and knee warmers in February.

Friday I met up with L WEbb, we road from her house to Rittenhouse, then on to Iron Hill. It turned out to be a great ride, those trails were in surprising good shape. It also brought back some fond memories. The first time i ever rode a mountain bike was at Iron Hill. I used to live a bout 3 miles away so I used to ride Iron Hill a lot. In fact my first epic, if you want to call it that, ride was from my house in Elkton, to Iron Hill, then out Rittenhouse and back. I think it was like 25 miles, which at the time was a big ride for me.

Yesterday was more of the same, except Matt and I rode from his place. It was nice ride from his place to Rittenhouse, then on to more Iron Hill. I was feeling pretty good until the ride up Switch Back, then I started to crack. This was bad because we were a long way from Matt's house. We made it back, but I was shattered, I don't know why. It was a pretty flat ride with the exception of Iron Hill, the pace wasn't brutal, but it took a lot out of me. Despite that, it was another good 3.5 hour ride.

I have a couple of days off the bike, then efforts start, Oh Boy....

Last night was a climbing and dinner, which would have been a lot more fun if Rachael wasn't at home waiting for a mare to have a foal. It's that time of year for her, I just hope they start popping these things out soon.

Cheers,
Buddy
